Meet Number 8

It's been at least 20 hours of looping plugs and stitching them into the scalp. At least. I've shoved a darning needle through my finger more than once, thought I was going to run out of hair and seriously doubted my sanity.

But then I put my brave pants on and did her makeup...

Number 8
Glittery glittery glittery!
...and now I think I realise that Number 8 isn't going to be heading off anywhere too fast, because she's completely gorgeous.
Number 8
Ooooh.
Can't quite believe what I've created. Here's a reminder of how she looked before.
Number 8
Cute, but not smouldering...
And here's the after again.

Now all she needs is a name... and to stop making my other customs look bad. Bah!

Elin Modification Step 4

Aaand we're nearly there.
Customising
Yes, you're getting your body back.
After letting the face-up set, it was time for hair. I must admit, it was the hair that started this whole process off. I'd happened upon a totally gorgeous re-root from the talented Piparrot on the Blythe Kingdom forums and just had to have it.
Customising
This is where we were headed from the start!
I'm not really what you'd call a sugary sweet princess... but after drooling over the divine Juliet, there was most absolutely a hole in my life the shape of a mohair girl.
Customising
Er... not really your style, dearie.
Unfortunately, attaching a re-root is not the most dignified process in the world.
Customising
S&M, Blythe Style
But it was absolutely and completely worth it!
Movember
Before...

Elin
...and after!
(And OH, the glittery lids!)
Elin

I'm beyond amazed with what I've managed to achieve, especially as the work on her this week was punctuated by the Boyfriend being rather unwell and frantic revision for my big exam at the end of the month. I will say that working on a real Blythe (even an SBL!) is much easier than a factory. The component quality is much higher, the eye chips are easier to remove and the mechanism seems a bit more sturdy.
Elin

I had a bit of a wander around evilBay yesterday... and my next project might just've fallen into my shopping cart. Watch this space, big plans for this one!

Update on Number 3

Number 3 Blythe, who you may remember from kitchen escapades a week or so ago, has been in the process of getting a makeover.

Pleased to announce that we're nearly there!
Number 3
The purple and copper chips are my favourites.
She still needs a date with a wet flannel and a hot iron to sort out her fringe.
Number 3
What you can't see is the butterfly clip holding the fringe in place :)
But I'm reasonably pleased with the results.

Eyeshadow did not work out, so we're not having any at the moment, just starry lids.
Number 3
Stars! Yaaay!
The eye mech sticks *sigh* I think the grey chips stand too proud of the eye surface... and I did have to do a bit of a botch job on the arc. Unfortunately this was made of very cheap brittle plastic and went 'ping' when I disassembled her. They turn by hand just fine.
Number 3
Pull one to open the eyes... pull the other to... erm... well. Not do anything much in the way of changing... right now. Hrum.
Still not sure on the gold chips. Hrum.
Number 3
They're not bad. Just a bit STARING. Dunno. Might grow on me?
