Sadness

Just heard today that Mogwog, the awesome little cat belonging to the awesome Fil has passed on.

Fun at Fil's

We only met her once, but she stepped off of the desk, onto my lap and into our hearts.
Big hugs to all the Fil house from all of our crew xxx

Late Entries!

Hey guys!

Feeling much better today, even went for a run (although I'm certain that my iPhone has some sort of gremlin... more about that another day) and don't feel like complete death at the end of it, phew!

For your delight and delectation, here are a couple of late talent contest entries that just slipped under the deadline.

Firstly, the lovely Ro and rugged Vik demonstrate a beautiful pas-de-deux...

Makie Lake, anyone?

And now please put your hands together for the antics of Fil's Magical Millie!

Haha, awesome.

Alrighty, that's your lot. Check back here at 12pm Wednesday for information on the voting and a recap of all the entries! Apologies once more for my lack of sticking to a schedule... but hey, it's my blog and I can do what I like. Rawr! See you tomorrow!

Wholly Together!

Yep, after three days of arguments, swapping bits in and out, brute force, naughty words, filing, glueing, drilling and improvising, Number 11 (aka 'Leggy') is finally in one bit!

(Okay, okay, so we're minus a couple of screws)

This lovely lady was assembled from a mishmash of spare parts, not all of which were designed to go together. I've no idea where the mech came from, or what they used to hold the chips in, but after an hour of glue-chip attempts, I had to resort to drilling the little blighters out.
Leggy
Sea green chips... very pleased with these.
Once the new chips were in, the mech decided to pack in on me. I had to swap out the arc in the end, which has 90% fixed the problem, but a bit of the eyeball itself is worn and not all the changes are entirely reliable.
Leggy
Mmmm, pinky-gold and GLOWING.
The Obitsu body was the choice of the lovely Fil. It gets +8 points for pose-ability, -5 for having a bloody horrible neck wobble without the aid of elastic bands and a further -5 because the body is too floppy to hold up the weight of its head. That said, I have seen some gorgeous photos from these, so we'll give it a +2 for potential and call it an outright 0 score. Wouldn't use one myself, but I'm not going to stop anyone from buying one if they really, really want to. I'm going to have to have a play with a Neemo to compare.

Leggy
Hey hey, Leggy.
Still. She's not looking too bad for all the problems we've gone through and I hope the Fil is pleased with her. I also hope I've not landed her with the name 'Leggy' forever after...

Fun with Obitsu

Fil's Magical Parcel of Awesome wasn't just wooly hats and some seriously cool brooches (which I'll show you another day), it also contained Number 11 (aka 'Leggy'), who's here to get assembled and a make-over.

Although it's a little odd to be assembling an entirely new girl from spare and second hand parts, I'm up for the challenge; and Fil's concept for this one is brilliant. Can't wait to see her finally put together.

Plink gave me a hand with the unpacking of the bits.
Fun with Obitsu
Yes yes, hello.

Fun with Obitsu
*sigh* Very good.

Fun with Obitsu
You're both little teapots?

Fun with Obitsu
"Taadaaaaaaa!"
I give up.

"Esme?"
"Yes, Plum."
"It's 22 degrees centigrade outside, and we're wearing wooly hats."

Seasonally Clothed...

"Well, someone's got to start the trend, haven't they?"

Thanks for the presents, Fil! We love them.

Cosma

Yes yes. I'm being a bit lazy.

But I found these photos of Cosma, Fil's gorgeously dyed Makie on looking through my photo files and thought they were too gorgeous to not blog again.

Science: It's Serious Business

Just a few from the blooper reel from our dyeing adventures...

Scientists, Assemble!

Millie is a Pretty Scientist.

This Heron distracted Fil by catching a frog at a crucial moment.

Ted is a stickler for PPE.

Apparently, these are traditional scientist fodder.
We thought they tasted a bit like mouthwash.

No, Ted...

Fluffy, Lab Supervisor

Chai Tea Latte; just what Millie ordered!

Fil, hard at work.

Scrutinising the colour.

Poser.

Northern Adventures!

As well as going to the Manchester Blythe Meet, we got to spend the night at Fil's... which meant an excellent opportunity for Plink and Melchie to investigate her vast and epic collection of doll-related items.

Adventure Time!

We're off to Manchester to see Auntie Fil and her mahoosive collection of awesomeness!

Note; only one reserved seat and that is MINE, ladies.
We're also going to be dropping in on today's Blythe Meet (the girls have tied up Elin and thrown her in the bag as their ticket in), so might see some of you there.

Hooray for adventure!

Another Giveaway? Woo!

So it turns out that Plink is not a fan of her tartan dress wot is made with lovely fabric that the Fil sent me, and she's decided that another Makie is deserving of it.

Untitled
You don't get the frying pan...
This dress is hand-sewn from a beautifully soft fabric that was an unexpected present from the Fil. It fastens at the back with two snaps and has crochet lace around the neck and hem, and three tiny buttons.

As it's hand sewn, this garment will not stand up to rough handling or children.

To be in with a chance of winning the dress, leave a comment on this post by noon GMT on Monday the 14th of January. I'll pick the winner once I've woken up from my snooze post night shift!

Good luck! :)
